What is Spam?

MetrologyMetro terms spam as unsolicited commercial e-mail, unsolicited mail, mass e-mail, or junk e-mail sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists or individuals without their prior consent or in the absence of a previous relationship (including newsgroups, IRC channels, or message postings unrelated to the topic of discussion of the particular channel or message board).

What are MetrologyMetro's provisions in accordance with The CAN-SPAM Act?

	False and misleading header information is banned - This means that our e-mail's "From," "To," and routing information, including the originating domain name and address, will be accurate and identify the sender.
	Deceptive e-mail subject lines are prohibited - The Subject line will not mislead the receiver of the message to open it under false pretenses, thinking it is something else. The receiver will not be mislead as to the contents or subject matter of the e-mail.
	Opt-out methods must be provided - A response mechanism will be provided for the receiver to opt-out of any future commercial messages from MetrologyMetro. In addition, opt-out requests will be processed for at least 30 days after the initial commercial e-mail was sent, and MetrologyMetro has 10 business days after an opt-out request to stop sending messages to that address. Messages will not be sent to the opt-out requestor on behalf of MetrologyMetro by any other entity.
	Commercial e-mail must be identified as an advertisement and it must include the sender's valid physical postal address - The receiver will be clearly informed that the message is an advertisement or solicitation, he will be told he can opt-out of future mailings, and a valid physical postal address will be included in the message.

What is so bad about Spam?

Spammers are not welcome in our MetrologyMetro community. Nobody appreciates receiving junk mail. MetrologyMetro is no different. Spam slows down internet performance and can cause computer connections to crash.

How do I report spam?

MetrologyMetro encourages its members to report spam to support@MetrologMetro.com. Don’t forget to include a copy of the email with full message headers. Also include any other information that can be used to identify the parties involved.
